May 2007

The month of May was a busy month for the Bobby and the Lemieux's. We continued to have many visitors stopping by and Bobby was able to meet lots of people. Bobby's cord finally fell off and he was able to take a bath in his little tub. Alison celebrated her first Mother's Day. Aunt Meg came in from Denver and spent lots of time with Bobby. At his 1 month check up, Bobby weighed in at 10 pounds and was 22 inches long.

1st Visit to the Pediatrician

Bobby went to the doctor for the first time on Tuesday. He did a great job. He was awake and alert the whole time and didn't let out a peep until the doctor was all done and we were putting his clothes back on. Dr. Sperduto checked him out and said everything looks great!!

Bath Time!

Bobby had his first bath at home on Monday. It was just a sponge bath until his cord falls off but he loved it.

It's a Boy!!!!

On Wednesday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m., while shopping at Target, I started feeling something "different". I came home, unloaded groceries and took a nap. When I woke up I was still feeling the "weird feeling". I called Bob and told him to bring home his stopwatch. I made dinner and while we ate, we timed what I now know were contractions. They continued to get stronger, were 1 minute long and 5 minutes apart. I was afraid that it might just be false labor so we hung out at home, watching TV. We finally called the doctor at 9:00 and then headed to the hospital. When we got to the hospital, I was 5 cm dialated. After about an hour, I got my epidural, which was heavenly and hung out until 2:15 a.m. when we started pushing. On Thursday, April 26 at 3:20 a.m. our beautiful son, Robert (Bobby) Leo was born, weighing 7 lbs. 13 oz. and measuring 20 inches long. He is named after Bob's Grandpa Baron. The entire labor and delivery experience was a whole lot easier that I had been expecting. We stayed at the hospital, receiving many visitors, until Saturday, April 28 when we headed home.

The nursery is closer to being complete!!

The nursery is closer to being complete!! We have added a rocking, reclining chair that is so comfortable. You will also notice that we had to get a nice, tall bookcase to hold the tons of books the baby already has. The final stage is the artwork that will be on the walls. We will continue to keep you updated.

The Nursery is Coming Along

The nursery is coming along!! The theme is based on the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. Alison's grandma is making the bedding and as you can see it is mostly red and white. The crib, dresser and changing table are in place and we are anxiously waiting for a rocker-recliner to be delivered.

Our First Baby Shower

We had our first shower and what a wonderful day it was!! Stephanie, Karen and Barb planned a beautiful event. The theme was the same as our nursery- "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". The food was awesome and they even got an ice cream cake!!! The decorations were adorable- tulips on the tables and a clothes line full of cute little clothes. Everyone was very generous, we got all of the essentials and can't wait to use them!
